Clay Arts

Spend two weeks in the studio sculpting clay and learning to throw on the potters wheel! Students will learn fundamental handbuilding techniques, surface treatments, and glazing effects. On the wheel, students will create thrown plates, cups, bowls, and vases. Projects will be created from white stoneware. No clay experience needed.

About the Director

Keelie Verbeek is a recent graduate from Washington College in Maryland where she studied art and art history and minored in secondary education. Keelie is a practicing artist with a focus in printmaking, ceramics and photography. 

Her classes are fun, fast paced and challenging with many opportunities for different kinds of learners to engage with the medium. She teaches a variety of techniques and draws from her experience working with children to spark camper’s creativity and help them explore big ideas through the practice of making art.
